No, you are clueless. Let's take Tesla's battery that was breathlessly hyped as delivering 50% more capacity than a standard 18650. Missing in all the hype is that the Tesla cell is 46% larger, 10+ years of intensive development for a whole 4% increase in energy density. That's it, lithium ion cells of today are not significantly better than they were 10, 15, 20 years ago, what's better are the algorithms that drive charging and discharging. Faster charging, more charging cycles...nothing to do with the batteries themselves and 100% from the improvements in programming the microcontrollers that run the chargers and tools the batteries are used in.
