My ford dealership does that. They wanted a check. I laughed my arse off and told them back in the 90s and 2000s, the last thing a business wanted was a check and risk it bouncing. I told them this is the cost of doing business, and you know you are getting the money, plus people opt to spend the money now and pay over time to the CC company. They would put off services for that reason. They blamed the owner.

It is a very short sighted business mindset.

I know you feel like you got one over on them, but you paid that fee somewhere in there and you know it.

you do realize that this isn't the 90s or the 2000s anymore? They just scan the check electronically and initiate the transaction immediately.
