I bought a small electric pressure washer yesterday. Hooked it up this morning and it constantly cycles off and on with spurts of pressure and no pressure. I made sure there were no kinks in any of the hoses and that everything was properly connected. Has anybody else had an issue like this or did I buy a lemon?

I have one, but it's gas. No air in the lines?

Didn’t seem to be, it would work great for about 5 minutes at a stretch and then start acting a fool again.

Probably bought a lemon. Mine has never had an issue like that.

I believe they have a filter at the water connection. May be worth a try looking to make sure there is no debris in there

I have a Ryobi Electric pressure washer. Bought it about 4 years ago. It is perfect for around the house stuff- not too much PSI and easy to move around. It was relatively cheap and I figured if I got a few years out of it I would be happy.

Last year it started acting up just like you describe. Runs great for 5-10 mins then shuts down or has significantly reduced pressure. I used it once this year with the same shite and got fed up and ordered a gas powered from Home Depot. Will be here this week.

That was my thought process too, I don’t need to use it but on two relatively small to medium porches. I’ll probably exchange it and see if this is just a lemon, and if that doesn’t work then to hell with it, it’s gas time.

That sounds like a good move.

And keep in mind you can rent them and not have to store them.

had a ryobi 2000 psi one i bought about 7 years ago. It flooded in 2016. i went to throw it out and was like "heck, let me just see." and that thing turned on and worked like a champ util about 3 months ago. Finally died. Bought another 2000 psi ryobi, albeit it's a new design but no issues yet

I just got one yesterday at home depot. A 2900 psi gas powered model. I got it because I had an electric pressure washer. Just not strong enough imo.

I used to have a different brand electric model, but some friends borrowed it and returned it as a hot mess. The old one was a workhorse, Honda I think. I thought it was impossible to break, but those fools found a way.

When I turn mine on this happens sometimes for a few minutes and then it goes good the rest of the time. Not sure how much patience you gave it. Maybe mine is defective too but runs fine after the initial "warm up."

This happened to me when i bought mine a couple years ago. Call customer service. I cant remember what the fix was, but they walked me through it. Been working great ever since.

I think i had to turn the washer on, and pull the trigger (without a high pressure nossle attached) for a few minutes. I want to say it got rid of air pockets, but again my memory of the exact issue fades me.
