Kids were playing by the amite and he kept coming up out the water. Didn't risk it and took him out. Didn't see him until today when water went down.

Good shoot but I’m going to say Diamond back water snake.
I’ve never felt bad about killing a water snake of a kind growing up in the marsh and rice fields.
