OB, has anyone fished Bayou Black recently? I'm fishing a tournament Saturday and looking to see if y'all can help a baw out since I haven't been out since last summer. I'm trying to plan where I'll start and I'd like to avoid having to run all the way back around if the side I go to is blocked up. Are there any canals blocked up by lilies yet, such at the main pipeline, picant, stump, etc..?

Typically I'd fish the week or two before to scout but with a 4-month old that's no longer feasible. Launching out of Bob's fwiw.

TIA

Yeah I caught a 3 man limit yesterday, it was over there by that cypress knee on the side of that lilly patch in the intercoastal. Might want to check it out.

If I had known you were gonna post the location on the OB, I would never have taken you to that spot.

I'm not asking for spots, I've been fishing bayou black for 20 years. Just asking if anyone can help a guy out and potentially save him some run time if there's a main channel blocked somewhere.

If no answers here ask the guys that work at bobs they usually have the scoop as they talk to anglers daily.

Pipeline was clear a few weeks ago before all this high water. Fishing wont be easy this weekend unless your searching for lake runners. Bass are in that weird stage between spawn and summertime.

Some canals filled up in 70 mile but if you run a SHO you will make it through it.

Water everywhere, all back in the woods. Find some visible banks and stay in that area. Gonna be tough. Good luck

Yea it should be interesting. End of the day it's a fundraiser tournament so I'm donating my money . I'm thinking the water hasn't warmed up enough to push them off of the beds completely yet, so they may not be far off yet. If it's all under water anyways then it's a crap shoot.

I have a few ideas on where to figure that out pretty quickly, but didn't want to try to run down the pipeline only to spend the next 20 - 30 minutes going all the way around the copasaw to get there if it was blocked.

At this point I'll be happy if we aren't launching our boats with water a foot over the docks like a couple years ago.

I would throw you some info but I haven't been this year because of the high school tournaments. BASS won't let us fish there and the TD said he will not even consider it.
