Just got to talk to Mike Bonnette, he said the team did practice today, they held a team meeting, then individual meetings with coaches to address needs associated with storm. They had or are still having a walk-thru practice and as he said they are doing everything the can to be prepared to play on Saturday.

I also talked to Herb Vincent, he said that Tiger Stadium did sustain some damage, especially on the west side. Some awnings and glass is down from the west side, he said that is not as big a deal, as the electrical superstructure of the stadium. Unfortunately they don't have power to see what's up and online and what needs to be fixed.

Herb was adamant that there will be no decisions made today concerning the status of the game, it's a wait and assess status right now.

Hope that helps.

It sounds to me that it is game on! Looking forward to coming to Tiger Stadium having all day cocktails maybe some gumbo and watching the upset of the young football season.

Good update, but my gut tells me that there is no way that this game will be played. If I heard correct, there is no electricity in most parts of the campus and BR is fricked up pretty bad. I just dont see Jindal giving us the green light on this one which is a bummer because we need this game to get our young QBs some more experience.

Might want to save up and drink those cocktails AFTER the game.

The Tigers need the game and if at all possible you know they will put it on.

I think that pretty much just says that they are preparing to play. Meaning they are preparing for the game which they may or may not have but want to be ready just in case they do play. Not that this is bad news, but I wouldn't take it for great news either.

At first I was optimistic we were playing this week, but now I am almost 100% sure we will NOT play. With really unknown status on the stadium & no electricity, the game is not going to happen. I am most concerned for the players; by not playing, & we revert to our 'open' date, we are going to have the same situation as a few years ago, when the team was simply worn out the last 2-3 games. I sure wish they would consider a neutral site...

I don't think Jindal has any say in whether LSU plays this weekend or not, barring another hurricane. The decision is LSU's alone to make. If campus isn't safe thenthey won't play, but LSU isn't consulting the governor on the matter.

Well Jindal does control the state police and I am sure the EBR Sheriff's Office and BR City Police will fall in line.

Well said BB, folks lets keep things in perspective. I love LSU Football as much anyone and more than most. But lets get real here, their are more important things than LSU football at the moment. Their is no way in hell, they will be able to put on game legistically under these current conditions. Hell I am 50 miles away and I am posting from my laptop hooked up to a generator. I know damn well their is alot more damage in BR that was alot closer to the eye wall than I was.
