Kind of esoteric, but I found this "win" by Verizon before the BBB to be somewhat amusing:

Basically, Lily, Inc. (AT&T) objected to Verizon TV commercials as lacking "a reasonable basis for the comparative performance claim that its 5G Ultra Wideband provides the 'Fastest 5G in the World.'"
quote:

In this proceeding, NAD considered whether consumers' ability to connect to Verizon's 5G Ultra Wideband 0.5% of the time rendered the comparative speed claim of so little consumer relevance as to warrant precluding Verizon from making the claim.

Ultimately, NAD acknowledged "the potential for consumer confusion" and "advised that, going forward, Verizon carefully craft its comparative 5G performance claims to make clear that 'fastest 5G in the world' refers only to its 5G Ultra Wideband."

So, Verizon has faster 5G, and they can advertise it even though only 0.5% of their customers have the advertised service "available only in parts of select cities."

Ruling by the The National Advertising Division (NAD) of BBB National Programs here.

How so? NR will allow wireless providers to achieve lower latency with better spectrum efficiency. NR will also allow wireless providers to increase the maximum width of carriers from 20 Mhz to 100 Mhz.

Don't tell me you're one of those 5G conspiracy idiots?

Tmobile 5g is legit. Sure, it isn't as fast but I get 100-200mbs in places I couldn't get a signal with ATT or Verizon and it is actually available for me to use.

5G can't pass through a leaf, much less a wall. It's fools gold at this point. When my phone says 5G, I'm still getting 4G speeds and not even top of the spectrum 4G speeds.

Yeah, TMO is far and away the leader for 5G.

Which portion of 5G are you talking about?

I am going to assume mmWave because sub 6 5G is out in quite a lot of markets.

In fact, I can assure you that at least for TMO, b41/n41 TDD and b71/n71 FDD are now out in significant quantity.

We recently just started the b66/n66 FOA.

Btw those sub 6 carriers are roughly 1.3 Gbps (you cant get that in a single carrier with ANY LTE carrier.)

My AT&T 5G service is barely faster than LTE. I’m unimpressed to say the least.

My iphone 12 is slower on 5G. So much that I disabled 5G and just stay on 4G LTE.
