We are getting rid of about 20 large azaleas across the front of the house. Anything to do other than just dig them up and dump them?
Are they transplantable to someone who might want them?

My neighbor took some of mine and planted them. They are doing fine.

They are weeds, grow like weeds. They will likely survive a transplat if someone wants to save them.
May just look like crap for a year or so.

You can probably dig them up and place them by the street and someone will take them

Seeing these reactions. I have some large azaleas one landscaper wanted to dig up and replace. They are probably 15 years old and huge. Guessing he was going to replant them somewhere. Next guy (and fighting tigers) says selective pruning is all they need.

I just built a pool in my backyard and my iron fence doesn't provide much privacy.
Ive been looking for big bushes, but dont have the patience to plant and wait a decade for growth.
Id pay a pretty penny for some big azaleas.

Beware big shrubs being moved right before summer is an iffy proposition. Not a sure shot to take. Just sayin'

I’ve got some taller than me that are getting cut back tomorrow then transplanted in the fall somewhere else in my yard. They are very resilient

Where are you located? I need one to fill a hole in some mature axel as my painter decided to butcher so he could access an area to paint on my house

I've got 6 or 7 large Azaleas in my front garden bed that I want to remove if anyone wants to come and take them. I'm in Mandeville.

generally good advice but azaleas are very shallow rooted
