I mean, if they're freed, they should be 100 percent freed. They should regain their 2nd amendment and voting rights.

If they're too dangerous to have those rights, they should be kept in prison.

Ridiculous notion! Not even you would believe this if you thought about it for three minutes. Example: Upon release they have parole officers and all kinds of restrictions. It is a sort of a halfway house on the way to (almost) full citizenship.

Halfway houses are set up to give parolees a decent shot of getting back on their feet out of prison. It's going to take some time to rebuild their reputation, and not a lot of apartments are going to rent out to the recently paroled.

If they got sent back on to the street after prison without a decent shot of getting a job to support themselves or a home to live in, they will quickly resort to crime again as a means of making a living.

Edit: As for parole officers themselves, I see no problem with a definite parole length so they can check in with the police and let them know they are living a good, honest life. What I have a problem with is an indefinite, post-prison punishment like indefinite parole or complete loss of 2nd amendment and voting rights for the rest of your life.
