I went in for a routine check up today and my physician told me I have a heart murmur and he recommended a certain cardiologist.

I am in my late 20's. Any advice on what I can expect. I workout daily, and have never experienced any chest pains or shortness of breath.

Not a Dr.,NP wife says to expect EKG and Echocardiogram.Murmurs are often benign so don’t get overly anxious at this point.

Some of these issues are innocent. Some can be quite serious. Sometimes seemingly healthy athletes succumb to these type of issues without warning because it was undiagnosed. Be happy that he heard something and that you're getting it checked out. Don't panic -- just get it checked out. Good luck, man.

It'd be very rare to have a serious problem with great exercise tolerance.

And that's why calling all internet "doctors" is not the best strategy

I just had an EKG at my physical and was referred to a cardiologist for a short pr interval, not sure what to expect.

Wonder if it’s connected to all the psychological medication or anxiety attacks.

If you aren't suffering from any signs of diminished cardiac output I wouldn't worry about it. Your Dr is probably just covering his own arse in case with the cardiology referral.
