LSU Tiger baseball = Miami Hurricane football

Both ran their respective sport for 15-20 years fell off, popped back with another national title and are also rans now and we hold on to those golden years of the past.
Both teams fans still think their team is badass but everyone else knows thats not the case. They are no longer the most consistent teams in their own conferences.
I do not care about Miami ever getting back on track but I/we do about our tigers.

We don’t have the natural talent base in our back yard like Miami football does. We are more like Notre Dame football.

Obviously huge difference between football dynasties and baseball. But I would say this is a pretty fair analogy. Notre dame football was near the top for more than a decade and a half. Miami football makes more sense.

To be fair, what top teams from the 90’s ( plus or minus a couple years) still have the same level of success.
