Old dog with arthritis, any suggestion on a dog bed that would be easy on his joints?

There are 1,000,000 options, hoping for some TD anecdotal evidence for one that works well.

80 lb golden retriever, 13 years old, he’s got bad hips, but otherwise very healthy. I’ll spend whatever to make him comfortable,

I had a retriever, gave her glucosamine and omega 3 (make sure you buy quality omega 3, theres a lot of trash out there) daily (sliced open the capsule and poured the oil on her dog food). There's also a medicine called previcox they give dogs for arthritis, but it can be hard on the liver so try to use it sparingly if your vet recommends it. I'm sure there are some newer remedies/treatments available though.

My dog lived to 16. She was half lab though.

Anything with memory foam. Get him some of the pot chewables. The ones without THC, I forget what they are called but they work wonders for joint problems in dogs.

Laugh if you will but Walmarks has a good selection of comfy looking dog beds. My dog loves his Walmarks bed.

Get him a doggie heating pad for his bed, too. It’ll feel great to him. My sister has a dog with arthritis and the heating pad works wonders.

Orvis has a great collection of quality dog beds, including memory foam dog beds.

I’m sure that memory foam is the way to go, but our dog loves her bed from Orvis. It’s very soft and doesn’t get too hot.

Her crate insert is from Pendleton:
Pendleton

ETA: our dog isn’t old/doesn’t have arthritis, but I thought if you’re looking for quality dog beds I’d vouch for Orvis and Pendleton since we think so highly of them

The best treatment is diet. Boil chicken and put some mixed vegs in afterwards. Make a large batch. Portion to the amount he eats per day. You will see a big difference.

Orvis beds are excellent. We sometimes adopt older dogs (usually with less than a year left) and the Orvis beds work the best with older dogs.
