My blood work is fantastic .. CBC, Chem 20, lipid panel, A1C.
Until I get to cortisol level and insulin level ... insulin level is "wnl" BUT over where she'd really like it.
I'm maybe 10# overweight, almost 52 and the NP (I go to a cardiac prevention center) implied that it could be the insulin and cortisol levels as weight loss doesn't happen despite diet/activity.
She threw the suggestion out -- it's easy enough to do BUT I'm just wondering if anyone uses this.

My hormones!!!
Dude you aren't losing weight because you are not in a deficit.
What are you truly doing to lose body fat? Be honest. How often are you consistently tracking and weighing? Are you lifting weights? If not, you aren't doing much for fat loss.

Oh and you are eating too many carbs if insulin levels are high.

No my insulin level is 10.9 ... range is 2.6-24.9. She'd love it between 4-8. It's "high" by her desired goal for me.

I put it in my smoothies. Just make sure to buy true cinnamon (ceylon). Unless you specifically look for ceylon you probably have cassia.

Though Coumarin is a natural ingredient, it carries a risk for causing liver damage or failure in sensitive individuals, and among those who consume the Cassia cinnamon daily, or in large amounts.
For this reason, those who take Cinnamon on a daily basis for health reasons should switch to Ceylon Cinnamon, which only has 0.03-0.04% Coumarin.

I take Cinnamon via capsule every day as part of my supplements.

Cinnamon is the ally of diets, has a direct effect on blood sugar and cholesterol, effective for people with type 2 diabetes. I buy rybelsus and cinnamon as a supplement. But it really takes Ceylon cinnamon for long term consumption to preserve the liver.

I've been adding some turmeric to my smoothies over the past year or two. When I ran out the last time, I decided to try the turmeric/cinnamon blend. I can definitely taste the cinnamon flavor a little, although think that I prefer the turmeric flavor (which used to just be a hint of it).
