Gio will be back next year; I just can’t put any faith in Hampton while he’s playing two sports.

So did a little research this morning...

Crews has 57 PAs and he has come up to bat with no one on base 38 times... 2/3 of the time or 67%.

If you remove the leadoff spot (12 games) That becomes 58%. Woof.

SMH football has nothing to do with his skills at baseball.

it’s clear that he’s coming in behind several other guys because he has to split time with both sports. It is what it is.

Not because he lacks the skill set. Bianco to center was bull. I question their intentions at this point

At this point, Hampton doesn’t appear to be the first, second, third, or even fourth option for CF. Obviously very surprising but clearly the coaches aren’t seeing what they want from him? I’d love to get him in the lineup with his potential but just doesn’t look to be in the cards right now.

There is more to it. He shows up when they put him in & then they bench him again. Weird.

What exactly has he done in his baseball career at LSU to warrant more playing time?

He was starting before Covid hit. Covid ruined his freshman year. He's actually still a freshman on the field. They recruited him hell. He was committed in baseball before football. After a 3rd of a season he doesn't warrant playing time? bullshite

I'm a fan of his I started following him once he committed to LSU. I think they want to punish him for not taking that money. IMO that's not their fricking business. Where I come from you put the best players on the field. LSU has always been political. This team is not that grand to where they can afford to try and shun anybody or teach life lessons I have been following other SEC teams this season & LSU is in for a rude awakening. They are going to get their asses beat.

They need to try & make sure everybody has seen a few quality at bats. Anything can happen somebody could get hurt. One person might be hot when another isn't if I'm the coach I want all my bat hot or at least lukewarm. These tactics are dumb af.

Wait. LSU wants to punish a player for not taking MLB money and coming play for the University? In what world does that make sense?

He is not being punished for anything. The other guys have proven in practice and now, in the case of Drost, in games to deserve more playing time than Hampton.

I’m sorry I know he is a great talent and I know he comes over and gets cuts in during football season but that is still nowhere near the reps that the rest of the guys are getting. The rest of the guys he is competing with are talented guys too and they aren’t splitting reps between two sports.

C Milazzo (I would even considering starting Wyeth at times for more offense)

NO!!! By starting Wyeth you get about 1 more hit every two games. That is not even close to equaling the passed balls and stolen bases we'd be giving the other team.

It's interesting rereading this thread now that CPM has shuffled the lineup with Thompson at SS. I think Doughty at third and Thompson at SS will really improve the infield. Hopefully Arnold gets settled at second, because he's been an adventure there so far.

Bye then Dad. Your son is a special athlete to say the least. But to act like LSU has screwed him over is ridiculous. His time will come if he will remain patient. And last year’s team has nothing to do with this year. Looks at Beloso and Cranford as a perfect example of that

Yep. Throw from short is much longer than 3rd. Plus ball gets to you quicker at 3rd. Having big arm is always nice, but not hugely necessary for 3rd.
