Hindsight is 20/20, but I’m so happy the Texas game was canceled last year

Our defense was so bad in September and October that Mississippi State and Mizzou tore us a new one. I’m guessing that Sam Ehlinger and Texas would have done the same to us in Tiger Stadium. That would have been pretty embarrassing, so I guess losing that game was addition by subtraction in hindsight.

I have a feeling that with a normal year, we would have gotten our bearings and been a strong mid to top SEC team.
This was an already insanely young team and I think everything being up in the air threw them off way more than a team full of people who had been in school and played a normal season.
Yeah, everyone had to deal with COVID, but not everyone lost what we lost and were expecting a lot of freshman to fill their shoes.
Had everything gone like a normal schedule, I still stick to my initial prediction of 9-3, 8-4 being the floor. Last year was a team that needed to find an identity and run with it. They did just that, but not until very late into an already abbreviated season.

If we would have had a regular season, our team would have performed. It became a perfect storm.

Yes, we would have lost bigly to the Horns. I just think last season was a total aberration, everything that could go wrong, did so! We just need to forget about last season and move on...

Would have been a shootout and either team could have won it. LSU offense would have went up and down the field on Texas just as easily as Texas would on LSU.

and maybe a spring and fall camp so that a lot of these kids weren't going from their last high school game to an SEC game without any coaching

If there is no COVID, our original schedule had us playing a warm up game against UTSA before UT. I think with more practice time, our team better learns Bo's system.
We might have lost to UT but it would not be a blowout.
And we would have played Moo State mid-season, when they were exposed.

Exactly. That’s a regular season.

Might have saved Herman's job if we lost to them.

Oh so it was better in November and December?

Bo’s system was to give up a million yards and points and pray for lucky turnovers

Missing a spring and a full fall camp were huge factors when u consider replacing all the impact players we lost

Texas elected not to travel to Baton Rouge due to Covid.
