First of all, thanks for the times you've helped me on The Tech Board.

I've had a few fraudulent charges on my cards over the years, sometimes posted, some not. It was always cleared up, whether in a day or a few weeks.

I can't imagine they would actually charge you interest after it's proven fraudulent.

As far as your limit, just call them and ask them to increase it. Certainly shouldn't be a big deal to increase it by $1000. I wouldn't mention why either.

Meanwhile, since you're pissed, go get another card and move on.

I'm also a merchant and have dealt on the other end of things too. It always works out, sometimes fast, sometimes not. I've made a few mistakes over the years and if it involves a cc, I always offer to write the customer a check after I tell them it may take a week or so for the bank to clear the error.

Best of luck, but if I were you, I wouldn't sweat it.

Citi called my wife this morning to grill her with the same questions.

Have you ever loaned your card? No.
Have you asked your husband about his purchases? Yes.
What did he say? He says he didn't make the purchase.
So you don't think he did it? No! I've already answered these questions.
We just need to make sure nothing has changed.

Then they told her they would have to investigate the ip address, location, etc of the purchase. It's been 8 days, shouldn't you have done that already?!

Starting to sweat it.
