You’re telling me. We’ve been wanting to build in the next 2-3 years. :(

The folks we’d like to use do have a house or two on the market they built to sell, so hope they stay within a price range we want.

Our neighbors have owned the lot beside ours for 12 years and I saw him walking the property a couple of weeks ago and when I went out to greet him I found out they are planning to build in the next couple of months... I just shook my head. You may very well be fine though, these things are always cyclical.

New builds won’t be the only problem.

I have family which took a lot of damage in the ice storms for various reasons. My BIL got a contractor to come out and look at the damages and he says the quote for repairs was more than he makes in a year. And I’m sure materials are a huge part of it.
