Nah, that’s not fair to him. He’s been saying this shite for years. Said it both during the Clinton and Obama administrations and put his neck on the line to do it. He lost his show refusing to apologize for saying the hijackers were brave but fricked up.

I wish he stood up more when he was accused for being a racist when using the N-Bomb in an obvious joke anyone who is remotely funny would make. I remember what that Senator said and thought to myself “OK, he says “You come work the fields”, then you’ve got to make that joke as retort if you’re remotely funny or ballsy”. I’m not a racist, but if someone said that to me, there’s no doubt I would have said basically verbatim what Bill said. No actual comedian from Dave Chapelle to Bill Burr to Sarah Silverman would let that pass them up. They’d all be thinking “God damnit, I got to say it or I’m a pussy.”

The Senator should have been the one shat upon there. What the frick else are you supposed to say if someone says to you “we’d love to you come work the fields” unless you’re interviewing for a farmhand position? You’re not an actual comedian if you didn’t respond basically verbatim what Maher said.
