A lot like the terms equality/equity, systemic/systematically, western culture/white nationalism (white nationalism is bad. Full stop,) leftism gradually moves the Overton window on words and meanings to capture what they want.

BIPOC overnight went from Black Indigenous and People Of Color to Black Indigenous People Of Color overnight in an attempt to exclude white adjacent culture in Indians, Asians, and Hispanics because they haven’t had the same “struggle against America.”

We used to be about equality (equal opportunities) and that word has disappeared in favor of equity (equal outcomes.)

Systematic racism couldn’t be proven because there’s no words or language in most laws or business that exclude minorities, so the word systemic came in to address racism that can’t be pinpointed to a specific law or rule.

Western culture promotes single cohesive family units. Most people will agree that a good way to avoid poverty is to graduate HS, don’t get pregnant with somebody you don’t want to raise a child with, don’t commit crime, etc. While I wouldn’t say that’s exclusive to western culture, it’s identified with it. Now promoting those and saying they’re a better way of life for everyone, teeters on white supremacy/nationalism. WS/WN are of course evil and 99% of this country wants nothing to do with them but the idea is to change the definitions over time to get the desired result.

Actually, they were already classified as such, at least down here.

Some folks on a local history Facebook page have been posting old yearbooks from Metairie High (now Haynes Academy) from the days before integration. Folks like the Yees, Hews, Wongs and Lees are in there (and very involved, too -- class favorites; most likely to succeed, most intelligent, etc.). Hispanic kids were in there as well. But of course there were no blacks at all.
