Louisville is trendy and hip but has a lot more big city problems then lexington. Wokeness, crime, taxes, higher housing prices, etc. I'd rather visit louisville than live there.
The people saying its too cold are wrong. The winters since I've been here are relatively mild. The summers are a hell of a lot better than louisiana. The temp might hit mid 90s in the dog days of summer but it's only in the hottest parts of the day and it's not for very long. Way better than south LA where the heat index is 104 for all of July and August. I remember packing up the moving truck in nola in June when it was miserable by 0830am. I do not miss that. Fall in KY is actually a season and it's glorious, not two weeks in October.

Winters typically aren't too bad here. Once every 5 years we will get a 8" dump of snow, typically get a few inches spread out over 3 months. One ice storm a year.
Winter really lasts from mid December thru early March.
Summers don't get to 100 at least not temps, will get into the mid 90's. But that's what swimming pools are for.
