Did he really rip them off? The brothers sold out.
While this is true, part of the deal was that the brothers got to keep the original McDonald's BBQ and burger place that started it all, only for Kroc to open up a McDonald's right across the street which forced the brothers out of business.
Dude was a dick.

I need to watch this. Interesting concept. My parents are nearing 70 and they both talk about how pizza wasn't really a thing like it is now when they were kids back in the 50s/60s.
They talk about that in the episode. Some Italian restaurants served Neapolitan or Sicilian pizzas, but the big craze didn't get underway until the 50's. I know by the time my mom was a teen in Houston in the 50's, people had their favorite pizza places, but they pretty much all talk about the same local joints.
That was what I meant in my earlier comment about not realizing how big (or influential) Pizza Hut was. By the time I was growing up, there were so many pizza places to choose from that you just went with the nearest or cheapest chain.

My Mother would take us kids to the McDonald's on Florida and pick up fries. She then would drive to the BK's on Florida letting us eat our fries in the car. When we got to BK's we would order a whopper and a coke. We were in heaven.

Had no idea how Frito's came about. That was a pretty interesting story.
