Green power not good enough to supply all of us with power. If the government wants to really make a difference they need to give rebates to people who have low electric bills , newer windows , upgraded attic insulation, newer AC units and solar panels. They need to step in and keep power companies from charging people with solar more then other consumers.
Pahahahaha more with the Government can give people money to solve our problems. Name one time the government gave people money to do something and the end goal was achieved?

the most efficient HVAC system is one the doesnt have to run. better windows, better insulation and better construction materials will reduce the amount of time you system will need to run. also, switch to LED lighting to reduce energy ussage and the associated heat load other lights can emit.
on a commercial scale, most buildings are not nearly as energy efficient with respect tot heir HVAC and lighting systems. most is driven by upfront capital costs vs long term payback. Also, investing and maintaining in a good BAS controls system can have a huge impact on energy ussage. occupancy sensors, after hours setbacks, variable speed vs constant speed, high efficiency boilers, load shedding, ect.
most facilities are not energy efficient.

I'm not either for or against green power. If the MARKET and not the GOV'T decides it's the best solution, then so be it. There are a lot of very smart people working on making it a viable solution. Again, the only care I have in who wins and loses in this game is strictly financial. I've bet on the VRFB being the storage medium of choice for the solar and wind farms of the future.

Not really, technology had advanced so much on coal they had to move to the "climate change" BS from pollution. Coal ash can be a problem if not dealt with properly.
There is always a by product, all this green shite is just as shitty if not worse.

Unfortunately there’s not a single form of energy that the government isn’t manipulating. They’re all beholden to govt at every level in some form or another.

The gas is frozen too bro. Wells are shut in across the region. It appears storage withdrawal is inefficient. This weather is a case for coal or nuke, but nearly all power plants are fitted for natty or wind in Tx. They’re not going to spend $ to retrofit to coal over a rare event. If anything time will be spent on wellhead maintenance and turbine deicing.

And yet that’s a no go . Even if it spawned unics they would scoff at it

I guess right now with wind mills frozen in and solar panels covered in snow not to mention no sun , those off hours are extended out a bit huh . Of course there is some practical use for them but as a only source of power you’re gonna freeze or dehydrate depending on time of year . And those hydrogen tanks you mentioned, no that not a big issue till it goes boom anyways

Hey look its a low IQ person thats not familiar with new technology and fly ash scrubber systems.

So you would prefer the government give the money to big corporations? There is not a lot of things government has spent money on that worked because they don’t want it to work . Charter schools is the only thing that comes to mind .
So how are we ever going to gain power in this country with out reaching out to the moderate democrats? It’s time to try something different. If we get the government to help working class citizens and cater to some of the left it could be good for us all. A lot of the people who make their houses more efficient are actually republicans trying to save money . Why not put more money in our pockets and get some climate change nuts to join us at the voting booth? If we push for green energy at home and not power plants then we wouldn’t have all of these power outages .

Do some research into green energy storage. Off hours power will be stored in hydrogen tanks, hydro generation ponds, or vanadium/lithium batteries. I've invested in the vanadium battery solution.
The last major attempt of megawatt storage went bankrupt two years ago. Watch your investment .....

It's actually less efficient for the building when all the Karens and Shamikas bring in their space heaters to plug in under the cubicles to warm their cold diabetic feet because the facility manager turned the heat down.

I like the old Hannity expression "All of the Above" when it comes to energy policy. It doesn't have to be a political issue at all. Everyone wants more efficient and cheaper energy. It's a common goal. But one side wants to make it an all-or-nothing deal and demonize anyone who doesn't agree with them 100%.

I've only seen two locations with all green power that worked. Bonneville Power had all of the damns in the Oregon Gorge and both sides of the cliffs were covered with Wind farms. I have hundreds of distribution transformers on those cliffs.
The other was in Ontario where almost all production is hydro and the Wind Farms were providing power as well.
A wind farm is simply nothing more than a CoGen. That's it ...It cannot operate on it's own as a stand alone source. it must have outside generation.

This is exactly right. This all “green” thing is fricking stupid. It’s equally stupid to have zero wind, solar, etc.

Did Biden give chyna access to our power grid?

No I think the government should stay the heck out and let the free market decide. When people make a superior product there is not need to incentivize people buying it. The only reason we subsidize and incentive things is because they are inferior/costly compared to the other options available.
