College Basketball Mid Major Sleepers?

Seems to be some pretty good records out there for the mid major conferences. I am aware that most have played conference only type of schedules, but nevertheless, there seems to be some solid teams. Who can make some noise in the NCAA tournament, should they win their conference and make it?
Belmont (22-1)
Winthrop (18-1)
Drake (20-2)
Abilene Christian (18-3)
UC Santa Barbara (14-3)
Loyola Chicago (18-4)
Wright State (17-4)
UAB (16-4)
Boise St (16-4)
W Kentucky (15-4)
VCU (15-4)
Grand Canyon (12-3)
Colgate (9-1)
Can any of these teams make some legit noise? Any Elite 8 or Final 4 sleepers in there? I don't know much about any of these teams? All i know, is that outside of Gonzaga and Baylor, seems like anybody can make it this year?

These for sure have a great chance to upset a 5/6 seed. I’d say actually Saint Louis has a better chance than any of these teams though.

Definitely drake. They are good

Loyola, for sure. Very good defensive team (No. 1 KenPom) that controls the pace + still has a couple contributors, including Cam Krutwig, from their Final Four team a few years ago.

Colgate is legit. I would take them to sweet 16

I would echo the other poster that said Loyola. Cameron Krutwig was on the final four team from a couple years ago and is a walking double/double. You almost have to send a double team at him in the post or he’s going to score every time and if he doesn’t he finds the open man. Moser is a very good coach also. I also think Belmont just because of their history but haven’t seen them play yet

If they even get into the tournament. They'll likely need to win Arch Madness or risk being left out like Illinois State a few years ago.
Loyola beat them by 27 on Saturday. On Sunday, they needed 19 turnovers from Loyola to scrape out a one point win in OT. They were destroyed on the glass all weekend, and their star forward Hemphill is done for the year.

Belmont is pretty good.

Until SLUs month long freeze last month, a computer did 100 simulations of jerry palms bracket, and SLU had won it the 6 most times of any team. The freeze caused SLU to miss their first 2 games back, but if they get back to where they were before, I’d have to say they are the favorites.

NCAA Statement
The NCAA just announced that they are leaving it up to the conferences whether or not the regular season champion or the conference tournament champion represents their conference in the NCAA? If that's the case, i would suspect that many of the mid majors will take their regular season champ. One could argue that the conference tournament champion auto-bid into the NCAA tournament has hurt the mid majors success in the NCAA tournament. Nothing like a deserving (27-5) regular season conference champion losing to a (15-17) team that got hot for a few games.

dang, that's a game changer...i def can see a team like belmont bypassing the tourny rather than risk losing to tennessee state in the finals

I have always believed that the regular season champion of a conference should get the autobid. That’s the most deserving team and they proved it all season long. I understand the conference tournament argument, it gives teams a reason to keep trying the entire season, but when one team gets hot and it causes the league’s team with an actual opportunity to win a an NCAA tournament game or two to miss out I think it basically degrades the meaning of the regular season

Most conferences may not even have a tournament with Covid still going on.
