re: It’s time to revisit Bitcoin potential. Where do you think it’s going?

i don’t think corporations are buying bitcoin hundreds of millions of dollars at a time with the intention of using it as currency
What will they use it as? Legitimately curious.
I know the people at those companies are a lot smarter than I am, but what other reason would they hold on to it if not for it being a currency?

1mil isnt out the realm of things in the future as crypto IS the future. Paper money is about to be thrown to the wayside. How long will it take to hit that mil mark? even half a mil?
Is it worth the investment? I'd have to say it is. And its possible it hits the moon very quickly. I just dont know much about it, how to use coinbase or storing it in a cold wallet and forgetting about it. 1/4 bitcoin $10k on the hopes of $250k I'd say isnt that far-fetched and quite possibly worth the risk. If gold jumped form $350 in mid 80s to almost $2k now? Crypto can def hit the million dollar mark.

Amazing when I talk to people about BTC and large companies buying it up. They think these companies are trading the asset. Let me tell you these companies aren't having board meetings discussing buying BTC at 30k and selling at 50K a month later. They are looking 10+ years out. Multi Billion dollar companies aren't trading BTC lol

a few weeks ago, slackster was on the OT lounge saying that someone could just create a new bitcoin someday - in other words he has no idea what he is talking about - he is also a financial advisor whose entire livelihood is being replaced by digital assets and decentralized banking

, you simple man.
I said nothing stops JPMorgan from making their own alt coin. Care to explain why I’m wrong?

Bitcoin would be used as a currency if the government would treat it like a currency and not tax it like a property with capital gains. If they would do that at least for small transactions like $600 or less, the price of Bitcoin would skyrocket an order of magnitude faster than it is now.

no you didnt, you said whats stopping someone from recreating another bitcoin, big difference there
and sure jpmorgan might create an alt, nearly anyone can, who cares, it would not have the same intangibles as bitcoin

if youre spending bitcoin over fiat as a currency you need your head examined
owning bitcoin is like owning beachfront property in malibu in the 1960s, except most people are not smart enough to realize it ...yet

Most everyone thinks its going up. I will use it when it serves my purpose.
The part that bothers me is the lack of well thought out long term predictions. I've watched interviews with some bright minds who all agree 100+ short term.
But what happens in 10 years? What if someone makes a better coin? Bill gates talked about this in an interview once.
Is something better possible? What would happen to BTC value?

The only thing that will potentially kill Bitcoin is the Fed and their soon to be released coin (testing of code is already underway).
They’ve already set the stage by saying it’s used for funding terrorism and it needs to “be looked at”.
They will delegitimize Bitcoin however they can, even if that only means starting UBI (or the 5th “stimulus”) via fedcoin, instead of passing direct legislation against decentralized currency

The next question is when to get more BTC?
My thought was buy as I needed it, but then I miss out if it does go 500% higher.

The filing by musk said it could be a short term or long term hold
