True Crime story from 2013 on a 21 yr old female Canadian tourist’s disappearance. Just got through episode 1. Pretty good stuff, has a similar feel to the recent The Night Stalker series.
“In the span of 10 years, at least 80 people died at The Cecil Hotel. Missing persons, overdoses, and murders happened over and over — but why? Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel is now streaming”

On episode 2 right now. It’s pretty good. The elevator video is still battling.

700 room transient hotel in the middle of skid row probably had something to do with it.
I'm surprised that they're able to stretch this out into a multi-episode series.
There are videos on youtube that cover the story pretty thoroughly in less than 30 minutes.

I’m digging the 2 idiots from England who booked on Expedia without knowing the name of the hotel based on price and then drank the water.

I'm fricking irate after seeing how the singer was treated. He was there a whole fricking year before she was even there but the web detectives missed that and hounded this man until he tried to kill himself.

It's so obvious that she was having a bipolar episode and jumped into the tank on her own.
There's no evidence whatsoever that there was foul play

The wife and I are on episode two. We went to LA around the time that this happened. We stayed with a relative who lived about two blocks from The Cecil. Downtown LA is a dangerous place.

The new owner of the hotel wants to make one half of it low income housing and the other half a luxury hotel. That's a shite show waiting to happen

Lol. The world of death metal/black metal, whatever you want to call it, is a whole 'nother rabbit hole of crazy. Church burnings, fake suicides, actual suicides, murders of bandmates, hate crime murders, etc. I've been a metalhead since my teenage years and I stay far, far away from that scene.

They could have wrapped that entire story up in an hour, 4 hours was a joke. Meh.

In my senior year of high school I did a presentation about black metal, especially Mayhem, Burzum and the murder of Euronymous. Those Scandinavian metalheads were/are something else lol.

Then you know exactly what I'm talking about. I forgot to mention the obligatory Satan worship.

they spent 2 hours letting internet nerds give their theories, none of which were ever correct.

It was a virtual manhunt! Hey nerds, you know that's not how a manhunt works, right?

I think the nerds figured out she was on the 14th floor when the elevator wouldn't shut. That was their contribution.
