I just checked. They got smart I think...Alicia Keyes sang it. No one boos Alicia Keyes.
She has a beautiful voice--too bad it is used for pandering and making a football game political.

I don't think it was Alicia Keyes who quelled any booing. Thinking back on it, they never introduced it as the black national anthem. They just introduced the name of the song and played a video. I imagine at the point in the pregame rituals, most people weren't paying too much attention.
