Stars Owen Wilson ad Salma Hayek. Its a film about drug addiction with a sci-fi feel. I know some people may not like it if you pay attention to online review sites but I thought it was interesting. Anybody else seen it?

I watched it the other night....
SPOILERS:
I think a lot of people are going to think this is a big "was it all real or was he just tripping on drugs" unreliable narrator situation BUT
In the beginning after they leave the bar, Hayek is telling him something by the street and in the background you see this woman walking and she appears 3 times out of nowhere like she is just repeatedly rendering in. Its also right by the rehab center he goes to later. And im pretty sure the same dude that is walking outside when he goes in the end is walking outside when that woman is being duplicated.
This is also all before he does "yellows" for the first time. Its also outside of his line of site or consciousness. Only you could see it (im actually surprised i even saw it).
I believe that this proves it was truly a brainbox and that he just coped with being inside of it.

I was underwhelmed. I'm not sure if I would say it's worth a watch.

First thoughts were - annoying, tedious and the dialogue is really hard to decipher for all the background noise.
Why do directors DO that? Is it artsy to wash out the actor's lines with traffic and other background noise ?
I bailed shortly after they took the blue crystals.
Is it worth going on ? Is there a pay off? Nothing I saw kept my interest.

It's a film about mental illness. Drugs exacerbated their delusions but they were not the underlying cause.

Turned it off after 20 minutes. It just never seemed to go anywhere.

Friend,
I watched it last night for the sole purpose of removing it from the movies you should watch line. The movie was terrible and made no sense. It felt like a bad remodel of Inception with undertones of The Matrix, two movies I never liked. Wilson is fairly good, but Hayek is ridiculous and annoying. It is not worth analyzing beyond what I did.
