The people that just want to dump him for anything need to be careful though.

We have nobody else that can guard on the perimeter or any other above average passers. We can't even get an entry pass in to Zion if Lonzo isn't in the game.

Trading Lonzo is likely a tanking move unless it's part of a bigger trade like for Beal. If the Pels go on a run here Griff might end up rethinking trading him now. But the problem is still the same, it's not that Lonzo is a bad player, it's that he's likely to get overpaid.

Which is why using him in a Beal trade makes so much sense.

I agree. But you can move an overpaid guy if you have to. Dumping him for scraps, like some want, does nothing for you.

I mean if we are all starting to be honest with ourselves, trading Jrue was the first obvious signal that Griff does not see this as truly a win-now team yet. Despite whatever PR he is gonna put on it.

I think Lonzo is gonna need to still prove a lot more before the winds really do change directions. At least I hope.

As we saw with the Warriors, even dreadful players can go off or have streaks. Lonzo isn’t Oubre bad, but what Zo needs is consistency and a reigned in, smarter style of play on the offense. He’s shown it in the last few games, but we’ve seen throughout his career an inability to maintain it consistently.
