I'm binge watching BB for the first time ever and am nearly through season 3. At first I thought Skyler was merely a nag, and somewhat understandably due to her late term pregnancy hormones and having her life turned upside down with Walt's cancer. His unexplained disappearances further fed her own insecurities. But when she took the job at Beneke and went from keeping herself like a soccer-mom/housewife to dressing more provocatively I knew where it was going. By the time she asked Ted if his kids were home, I wanted her dead and can't help yelling at her every time she's on the screen. No spoilers wanted, but I'm guessing she continues to spiral downward into one of the shows true villains.

As to why she's an insufferable count, that's simple: She resents Walt because he's an "underachieving" genius who took a low-risk/low-payout path as a teacher to take care of his family. Whereas she's a maxed out former waitress who peaked at that point. So she hates Walt for her own inadequacies.

Gotta say though: I rarely get wrapped up in a show and can't remember the last time I hated a character like I hate Skyler. I didn't hate her when she was being a nag, in fact I felt some sympathy for her. But her turn was HER OWN "breaking bad" inflection point and hence the show title. It's a testament to the writing and acting that she evokes that strong of a feeling from me. I also really like the pacing of the show so far; I usually give up on a series when it gets too bogged down and feels like the producers are milking it rather than moving it forward. BB hasn't crossed that line yet for me.

Idk on the rewatch she wasn’t as bad but my brothers gf just finished BB for the first time and she despises her and Walt jr

So she not only was a hypocrite but emasculated him and she revelled in it. When Walt was no longer the pushover, she not only couldn't handle it but lost her love for him. She married and wanted the guy who walked away from Gray Matter. She never stood by her man unless he was weak.

So she shows Walt, who appears exhausted from is work, the fruits of his labor and begs him to quit, and go back to being old Walt so she can be the boss, if only for a short time until Walt dies. That chain of events IMO led to the demise and the unfortunate incidents that befell others.
She should have kept he mouth shut for what would have been another six months.

Misogyny. Nobody had any problem with Walt becoming a violent criminal - with some even hating Hank for wanting to take him down. But let a woman have some flaws and they are INEXCUSABLE.

She pissed me off so much that I stopped watching the show somewhere in season 3.

Meh. Marie was widely agreed to just be an irrelevant character - annoying, but irrelevant. And Jane was murdered by Walt and many of the fanboys STILL didn't admit he had broken bad, which would mean leaving his team. Just the murder of Jane is 1000X worse than anything Skyler ever did. But hey - Skylurrr cheeeted, so we hate hurrrr.
