Bottom line is, Ncaa needs to make them think twice before they transfer, make them sit out a year, like it used to be, its a bit hilarious these days, "oh I didn't start today, so im leaving"

I just find it hard to say that a player quit on the university that he actually received a degree from. The whole point of college is to receive a higher education degree and Burrow accomplished that. Burrow fulfilled his obligation to OSU.

I agree that you can say Fehoko quit on TT but he did pay a penalty for doing so.

Quitting is not seeing clear opportunity to better yourself and taking it after giving it all at the school you committed to and all parties agree that you aren't going to develop like you could elsewhere.

Many of these players quit and don’t have a better opportunity or see a better route that will help their chances going forward. They just leave the team to play anywhere. That’s not even close to the same scenario as Burrow or Fehoko. Fehoko was a starter. Burrow had the chance to start then got hurt. Both saw clear opportunity to better their future and both did so. It may not have turned out as successful as Fehoko would have liked but that was mostly on him for not getting into the best playing shape he could have been. Burrow obviously took complete advantage.

Both really didn’t want to leave but couldn’t help to see a better future. That is not what we talking about. That is not what is ruining sports and it won’t. Both situations are what the portal should be for. What it shouldn’t be for is players like our TE who just left because he’s homesick or because he didn’t like the style of offense or whatever. Lateral moves just because they’re unhappy.

Now if he was starting at Louisiana Tech, was only getting 3 passes a game, they ran the ball 75% of the time and he never scored a TD when he was promised that the offense would be built around him, then after a couple of years and a year to sit out, yea should transfer.

If you graduate and transfer before a season starts, you did not quit.
