I remember James more for being Simon L. Leis Jr.,the prosecuting attorney who convicted Larry Flynt in The People vs. Larry Flynt (1996). The real Simon L. Leis Jr. sued the movie makers over his characterization in it.
You know playing the role of a fanatical right wing prosecutor was fun for him. Like Alec Baldwin playing National Security Agency Lieutenant Colonel Nicholas Kudrow in Mercury Rising (1998). Both we way over the top characterizations.
