WWL TV
NEW ORLEANS — When Margi Kalbacher got her electric bill last week, she was shocked.
“Usually I kind of expect $150 maybe to like $180 bill,” said Kalbacher.
Her current bill from December 17th to January 20th is double that. About $330 for her 1,100 square foot New Orleans home.
“I didn’t feel that I had done anything differently with my lifestyle or my energy use to have it be that high,” said Kalbacher.
Entergy New Orleans customers are complaining of soaring bills on social media.
“We want to hear those complaints,” said Entergy New Orleans CEO David Ellis. “If you call us we can look at your very specific problem.”

This type of shite happened all the time when I lived in N.O.
I've never seen similar in 5 other places I lived throughout the US.
I think they just "guess" half the time.
But, hey let's give these N.O progressives Electric Cars!

Can you imagine the charges Entergy will be reaping with this electric car push and the lack of electrical infrastructure to handle the bandwidth of powering electrical cars.
These people will be begging for gasoline fueled cars again

There’s literally no reason to live in that shithole city.

That read to me like it's predetermined that it's the customer's fault, and they are prepared to tell you why it's your fault.

Naw I get $300 books from Entergy at times.
$3000 bills for WATER are unheard of except in NOLA a city floating on water practically

This can be easily explained by an electric heater and working from home.

Except the reason for the higher bills is because Entergy can't keep their shite running and passed the cost onto the customer.
And the City Council didn't do shite to stop it.

Not soaring but I haven’t lived in my house since second week of September and entered has made zero adjustments on my billing. They promise it will get sorted out once we move back in but I’m not hopeful.
City also said they are going to start reading meter in January

Ellis says for a typical customer who uses about 1,000 kilowatt-hours a month, that means about a $10 to $12 increase for that specific charge.
“That doesn’t double anybody’s bill. That’s not going to triple anybody’s bill. There are other factors that result in the increased bill,” said Ellis.
Ellis said other factors include a 12 percent increase in the overall cost of gas, an additional five days in the last billing cycle and increased customer usage because of a cold December.

$150 to $330 =/= $30 to $3000
The equivalent would be a $15,000 power bill.
This is just running the heater.

Increase cost of gas: 180x1.12 = 202
Increase days of bill (5): 202x1.15 = 232
Increase heater usage can account for the extra $70-$100 after that.
Seriously, this isn’t that outrageous.

This is too logical. People just want to pay the same price.

Entergy does this every once in a while because they know 50% of their customers will bitch and moan to themselves but just pay it anyway. They are willing to flood customer service for a couple weeks for the extra CASH
