Eh, those verses seem to be trying to show how great God's power is, and how those who go against him have no hope in overcoming that power.

Interesting, since Islam also claims that the Old Testament they copied is a lie. It's self contradictory.

The difference between the Jewish concept of God and the Trinity is indeed a sticking point.

But a fundamental characteristic of God that Jews and Christians accept is that he simply IS truth. God is not capable of lying - even in principle. Muslims disagree.

God's nature is either one of truth and goodness, or one where he can violate his own commandments - his own nature - when it suits him, which is what Muslims believe.

As in thou shalt not kill, and I'm going to flood the Earth and kill every living thing other than the ones in that boat?

I believe there is an Ark of the Covenant and it is the reason that the world is so fricked up today, because we have broken our contract with God.

As in the Old Testament, we are beset by a plague.

A plague of democrats and progressives.

Murder and "kill" get severely confused with folks reading the Old Testament. The Israelites had the death penalty for violating that commandment and others, proving that in context, the "kill" as you put it really means "murdering without cause". Simple logic.

Interestingly, about archaeology, Dr. Steven Collins has been digging at what he believes to be the site of Sodom. In digging down through the site, he's discovered a 3-foot layer of ash and trinitite - a glass compound formed by heating sand up to the level seen at nuclear blasts, lol.

There's a directionality to the blast that destroyed the city he's investigating, so he surmises there was a comet or meteor that nearly reached the ground before exploding.

Well my night will be spent going down this rabbit hole.

Of all the crazy BS in the world today, Dr. Steven Collins is absolutely compelling. His videos on YouTube are well worth the time if Biblical archaeology are an interest for you.

The site itself meets the criteria and age, and he's found the trinitite as well as burned human bones. The trinitite alone, plus the ash layer, seems pretty compelling to me, anyway.

In other words, you're fine with explaining away inconsistencies in your religious beliefs, but others are not allowed to.

Strawman argument. I've not said that. Muslims are free to explain what they mean by claiming that Allah is capable of deception. Further, they will have to explain why Allah mislead Jewish people for more than 3,000 years, which is nonsensical.

"Thou shall not kill" is better translated as "Thou shall not murder" which is clearly evident to anyone with two brain cells to rub together since Jews had the death penalty for violating the ten commandments.

Trepidatious words when referring to Sodom.

Well, when someone digs the damn thing up, then we’ll know the truth.

He did dig it up and put a camera down in there and it was indeed the ark of the covenant.

The reason I believe him is that he also found the Israelite crossing and chariot wheels in the Red Sea between Saudi Arabia and Egypt and Noah’s ark on Mt Arat in Turkey and Mt Sinai in Saudi Arabia where Moses drew water from the rock. If there’s actual evidence for those then why would he be lying about the ark of the covenant?
