Between Gilbert (admittedly being critic) and Ricks with officially in transfer portal and rumored to be, it’s evident the reason. There is a reason other major programs don’t share this issue with top players.

Our compliance department makes smoking weed a multiple game suspension. This is why Tory Carter couldn’t play in his last game as a tiger. Other programs look the other way with good reason . This rule about marijuana is extremely outdated and will only create prescription drug problems down the road. If I had a son playing football at the collegiate level and was offered Percocet for pain by a physician vs weed by someone else, but would have to transfer. You better believe he will be transferring.

So did Eli recently fail a drug screen?? Do they even test them this time of year?

For some reason I remember there being the one mandatory spring drug test by the NCAA in the spring. Think that happened to be one of the final nails in Perrillouxs coffin.

Why does everyone jump to weed every time a rumor comes out with no supporting information whatsoever?

To be clear. I do not smoke week or advocating for its recreational use, but studies show that it’s more efficient and less addictive than its “Big Pharma” pills.

LSU has its own marijuana research and it’s a shame they haven’t made a move on this. By “sticking to their guns”, LSU compliance and athletics department is compliant by default in the opioid crisis facing athletes today.

the NCAA tests, but it's usually not for weed. It's usually for some extreme substance. Good friend of mine was an athlete at LSU within the last couple of years and they were tested one time all year and it was a one panel test for methadone

The NCAA is not trying to get guys in trouble with drugs. It is an LSU specific issue.

Every time someone transfers or thinks about it it’s because of weed? no

Is he taking classes? Then he is subject to “random drug test” as a student athlete.

Why else do you think these transfer talks came out of the blue?

I’m all for legalization but if these kids can’t prioritize their futures over smoking weed then there’s little I can say to defend them. Grow up.

If LSU is testing and punishing athletes for smoking weed... Woodward needed to put an end to this the 2nd day he was in office.

I would much rather them and my son to smoke weed than to get hooked on some of the other pain killers

I’ve seen many people in great pain use it with great results.

I used to be against weed, but I studied it with an open mind and came around. For the record, I don’t use it.

What is the proof of this? Seen this said by a lot of Board experts but I’ve yet to see any evidence that it’s true

Because it’s not.

It’s one of many Rant fantasies.
