Drop in viewers will largely be due to lack of public and private gatherings for the event. So it's covid related.

The political sjw nonsense doesn't help, but covid is the main culprit here.

Are you arguing Americans do not have TVs in their homes, so they have to gather in other peoples homes with TVs?

BS! What do people use for entertainment when confined to their homes. They turn on the TV and mostly watch sports.
I can only watch LSU's championship for so long.
I would rather watch reruns of Gilligan's Island than professional sports.
I do it for my Grandchildren.
I'm not watching any program that advocates destroying our country.

Lol. So a literal captive audience isn’t watching the only sports on tv because....

They have options.

People are watching everything on demand, broadcast tv is dying. Sports will never be what it was (and I’m okay with that).

So a bunch of people don't have TVs or internet in their homes and have to go elsewhere to watch it? People that care about the game will watch it, people that don't care go to parties to socialize and don't watch a minute anyways. Viewership declines have zero to do with COVID.

When our overlords allow us to gather in private again, take a look around the room during a Super Bowl party and count how many are yapping and not paying a single shred of attention to the TV.
