The 7th ward was awful the past few years, but seems to have calmed down now. 7th ward was solid blue collar family territory in the 90s.

It's gentrifying bigly. Realtors are billing it as "New Marigny" and the hipsters come calling.

The area west of St. Bernard Ave has seen quite a bit of gentrification. East of St. Bernard is still a no-go zone though.
