You actually have a great point. People who have their homes or cars broken into feel violated and it is hard for many to get over it. The more snowflake you are (AOC and other democrats) the harder it is to put that aside.
I don't know if this ends up be a good or bad thing, but it definitely was bad at the time because it prevented a fair hearing of the evidence on the floors of the Senate and House, and I think that is what Nancy Pelosi and ruling class wanted. I think they just never told AOC the plan.

I'm not sure why they're needed. Joe said himself if anyone comes near your house all you need to do is just hang out the window and fire a couple shotgun blasts and they'll go away.
