I like having multiple networks having rights. This worked well in the '90s when FOX had the national games, and ESPN had the cable games. When FOX lost rights, ABC stepped in and was a quality partner. I get that some things FOX did weren't well received, but at least they put in the effort to make the product as good as possible. FOX was the first network to have a graphic box with the score and most other pertinent information in the corner of the screen. Then all the other networks slowly copied them. I really liked that FOX would show 4-5 games on at the same time. If you lived in the Midwest you weren't stuck with Eastern Conference games you had no interest in. If one game was a blowout or ended early, it was an easy switch getting a different game. Shoving the same old Eastern Conference teams down everyone's throat every year gets old. Remember when FOX had those animated robots that would appear out of the bottom of the screen and destroy each other when someone scored? That was hilarious. Remember when ABC had extra cameras that picked up the oh so close Gelinas no goal in Game 6 of the 2004 Stanley Cup Finals? CBC didn't even have a replay.

I remember watching NBA games on NBC in the 2000's having to wait 5 minutes to find out what the score was. The final straw was when NBC hauled arse off the air during a competitive Maple Leafs/Capitals outdoor game with 5 minutes left. That was supposed to be one of the marquee games of the year. That is unacceptable. No other network would stoop to that level. Not to mention the fact they stupidly hide playoff games on Golf Channel so MSNBC or CNBC can show re runs of Shark Tank. NBC and it's sister networks are complete trash. I hope they lose all of their sports programming someday. frick them.

Tell us how you really feel.

Personally, I hate the NBC family but I really like NBCSN and the prime treatment the NHL gets on that network plus all the Stanley Cup games aired across the entire NBC family. So I guess I would say I have a love/hate relationship with NBC. I bet I've watched NBCSN far more than I have watched ESPN. I just don't want the NHL to go back to the days where they struggled for visibility and we're relegated to the OLN.
