If constructed, the pipeline would have shipped 830,000 barrels per day of carbon-heavy oil from Alberta, Canada, to Nebraska. Opponents of the project have long considered its creation to be a setback for the United States' transition to cleaner energy.

Forgive me as I'm not that familiar with this part of the O&G industry, but isn't this oil going to still end up being transported to refiners and such now via train and truck?

Or is it just a ploy by the demwhits to now make it more expensive to get the oil to where it needs to be, that this will stop the movement altogether?

The play is to make oil more expensive so that "green" energy will be cheaper than those dirty fossil fuels.

It’s symbolic And an emotional appeal to the environmentalist nutcases. 1000s of people get laid off just to to make a few hypocritical liberal morons feel good.
