Bertrand Russell warned against self-protecting dogmas. These belief systems make it impossible for them to be criticized. Critics of communism are tools of fascist capitalist exploiters, etc...

My own personal fave is the homosexual dogma that there is nothing wrong with homosexuality -- unless you oppose it being promoted, which means you are a repressed homosexual, which is bad. Genius.

Still, it's hard not to appreciate the brilliance of the feminist doctrine of "false consciousness". False consciousness is women refusing to see the truth of feminism -- and even to oppose the idea of false consciousness is itself a sign of false consciousness.
