I get it. I’m sure it’s a coincidence. Just odd timing.

First and foremost I am very sorry for your loss.

Second, if 48 people, even in a fairly large congregate living facility, tested positive for COVID Occam's razor is clearly on the side of COVID being the COD, especially when an mRNA vax can't cause COVID. If he was the only one to die and no COVID pos test then it could possibly be from the vax as the vax does cause an immune response that may overwhelm a very weak system or be exacerbated by other underlying problems.

My father is in congregate living and had a positive test 8 days after the first dose of the Phizer vax but was very lucky to have only mild symptoms (feeling crappy and a 101.4 temp for 5-6 hours on the third day after moving to the COVID wing) and is waiting for his second neg test to move back to his normal wing. It is likely the vax and his almost certain hundreds of low-level inoculum exposures over the last 10 months helped him immensely.

The COVID deaths right at the threshold of the vax are one of those frustrating tragedies, somewhat analogous to being in the last few people to die in a war.

Curious if you mean that he was around other residents
My Grandpa is in a nursing home but they are not allowed to leave their rooms (all private)

They had 3 staff & 2 residents test positive the week after the vaccine was given

Glad your Dad is going well
