Dog obedience training

Got a 9 week old yellow lab. Trying to figure out what's the better option for both myself and the dog after he completes his vaccinations. Am I better off booking classes with a local(Covington) trainer and working with him myself or sending him off for a few months to a boot camp style school? Thanks to Covid, I have more free time, but do not know much about training. I would hate to go about it the wrong way and have a worthless dog. Recommendations for both would be appreciated.

We sent her off to a one week boot camp to a guy in Slidell that trains K-9 and military dogs. Billy Ryan, I believe.
She was wild and unruly (that's the breed) and afterwards, she could cook breakfast, tell time, and back the car out of the driveway.
Seriously though, worth the money. I can walk that dog without a leash all around the neighborhood, just giving her commands to leave the cats and squirrels alone.

Training a retriever puppy Bill Hillman.
This has created the best house dog most people have ever seen with an extreme desire to please and an easy way to get some energy out by building the desire to retrieve.
Even if you have no desire to hunt the dog the end product will be a very well trained dog on leash off leash and in the house.
My number one recommendation. Don’t ever give the dog a second where it is unsupervised and could possibly get in trouble. If you can’t give the dog 100% attention it goes in the crate until you can take it out and give it 100% attention again. I truly believe this is why my dog has no desire to chew anything it isn’t supposed to. She never created the habit in the first place.

I sent my GSP to Ryan. I had already started obedience training but was leaving for a 3 week vacation. He definitely improved her obedience.
Training and board was very competitive in pricing and you get access to his Saturday classes for free afterwords.

I took my lab mix to obedience training once. Turns out I was untrainable.
