How can we use them for Delta flights?
Read something about only being able to transfer 30,000 but I am having trouble getting the details.

I just logged into my Amex account and I can transfer all 600000 points for 600000 Delta miles so I don't know where you're getting 30000 from.

Have you already searched for the flights that you want? I wouldn't make the transfer until I was sure how many points the flights will cost, and the seats you want are available.

What's the route that you are flying? I would normally say that transferring to Delta is about the 4th or 5th best use of Amex MR points.

If you don’t mind me asking, which Amex card do you have? What card that you have used you think has served you best for traveling?

I know it’s mind-blowing for some, but you can actually pick up a telephone and call American Express directly and ask them these questions. In fact, you might actually get to speak to a real person.

The transfer from Amex to delta is just about instant, so no need to move them until you have a specific set of flights in mind. A lot of people hate on sky pesos but there are definitely deals to be had. You can go to Europe for 35k in the off-season which is ridiculously cheap given how easy it is to accrue MR points/miles. Obviously if you want first class you’ll get gouged on points.

Search virginatlantic.com for Delta operated flights. You'll often get a better value than transferring directly to Delta and won't have to pay the fees associated with transferring to Delta either. Alternatively you could book directly through amextravel.com depending on the cash cost of the flight, it could be a better value as well.

I have 200k+ delta miles, 200k+ American miles, 300k chase ultimate rewards, and almost 200k IHG points.... once this crap is stable, taking my wife on a glorious vacation if grandparents will watch the kids for about 2 weeks
