Yes. Things got heated in the 60s with the Vietnam protests and assassinations, but people were mostly trusting of the media and the political rhetoric, for the most part, was not as divisive. People really need to chill now. I don't think people really understand how bad things can turn.

The major difference is that now you cannot trust the media or the politicians.

You really have no idea. Shooting black people or anyone with long hair was a common conversation. Bombs on campuses were a real concern. When you graduated from high school you had to figure out how to avoid the draft or you had a good chance of dying. What happened Wednesday was an ongoing threat in government buildings and college campuses across the nation. It wasn’t just left vs right. You had riots at the Chicago Democratic Convention because the left wasn’t left enough.
