60’s was more divided. People aren’t being assassinated left and right. Kids aren’t being drafted. Black people aren’t third class citizens. Women aren’t second class citizens. College campuses aren’t rioting on a monthly basis.

According to Leftists, all these things are still happening. Blacks are being genocided, 75% of women are raped in college, the KKK is in charge, gays are rounded up in camps, and white men should be punished. Leftists push this toxic narrative through the MSM, academia, and social media.

I think the difference back then is there were real problems that needed to be solved.

Now, the division is over make believe stuff, from both sides, mostly perpetuated by the media. Social media then exacerbates everything by giving every idiot a platform.

Yep. The 60's by a long shot. JFK, MLK, RFK assassinated, riots and protests almost daily over the war in Nam and the Civil Rights Movement.

College kids being shot, riots over integration of public schools, riots over blacks becoming registered voters, especially in rural areas of southern states where segregation was still in effect.

Draft age young men burning draft cards and getting beat up by cops and patriots who frowned on the "Tune in, drop out, love in types" that the counterculture was breeding at the time.

The 60's were a true fluster cluck.

I really think that people were more divided in the 60s but the media today is far less objective. Reporting has been replaced with agendas and social media is nothing but leftist sensors.
