Anybody ever done this. My wife said she heard someone talking about it at work, and they sit you in the kitchen and you eat whatever the chef brings you. It's sounds pretty good. What kind of price tag do they put on it?

Its like $100 (ETA- per person)...that table has to be booked well in advance usually, but the Chef's Playground menu (which is the same served at the Chef's table) is available any night at any table.

Highly recommend it. Book well in advance for an anniversary or something.

Thanks. Doesn't sound too bad considering all the different food you get.

I have only known a few people who have tried it and it seems like I would enjoy just eating in the restaurant and getting the chefs "tasting menu".
The kitchen area table apprantly has bright lights, is somewhat noisy, and very busy.

Please let us know when you go if you liked it.

Do it! It's worth it! It's about $100 a person and you get to try like 7 different items. Go hungry! Your wife will LOVE it!

A friend of mine is a sous chef there, and he has been trying to get me to do this. He tells me it is about $100-$115 per head depending on the types of food. He said that he would get me and any other guests some kind of questionnaire about ouf food likes and dislikes. Then he said he creates a menu for everyone and basically spends his whole day prepping for our table. I am going to do this pretty soon and I'll make sure to write a review.

Who is your friend? I know lots of Commanders chefs........I've done the table before when my roomate was a chef at commanders......

Its awesome.......because it was a slow night in July I got 4 extra courses totaling 12 courses........they basically fed me small portions on half the menu.........I was stuffed....

With 2 drinks, bottled water, and a blood mary with tip I paid 128 bucks! I think they hooked me up a bit but I still say the chef's table is the best deal at commanders palace!

I've done it a couple of times and it is well worth it. It is a little noisy because you are sitting in a booth in the kitchen. That certainly should be a plus for the experience. Both times I had a Thursday night which I still waited about 4-5 months to get. Be flexible and you can get in a little earlier. They allow you the private bar in the rear courtyard and allow you to hang you jacket since it is a little warmer. They serve you much more than you think you are getting. You can stay all night as well. My first time was about a month before Jamie Shannon left because of his cancer and it was fantastic.

I recommend this to anyone. A great dining experience and one you will remember.

I would love it.. My GF would not.. I guess it depends on your company. Some people dont want to see their food being prepared.

I see where this place has been named one of the places to eat before you die. What is a must order here?
