I got an email from CTD that they have 200rd packs of 5.56 for $350 each. Idiots paying these prices are part of the problem.

Not but a year ago you could get fmj brass for 0.26

I'd have to be in the middle of a gunfight to pay that.

I needed some badly I only had about 2 mags worth left and I like to keep a couple hundred rounds on hand and nowhere around here has had any for 2 months.
Store owner said a guy came in from Memphis and bought 60 boxes of 5.56 because we was selling it on the street in Memphis for 4 dollars a round

Clames, in your opinion, if a guy had a few thousand rounds of .223 75 grain BTHP American made, what would be a fair price per round right now?
Edit to explain: I can buy some Hornady at about 80cents and factory reloads at about .72. I wouldn't want to rob anybody, but I would want to make a profit.

Nearest academy is 2 hours from me I don’t have time to do that I live in a town of 1100 in the middle of the Ms delta I’m not “close” to anything hell I drive 20 mins to Wal Mart

That ammo in the packs is ADI ammo. I haven’t shot their FMJ rounds but I have a bunch of their ammo with the Sierra blitzking bullets and it shoots super accurate. The sealed packs are nice too, just kinda wish they were 10 or 20 rounds in a sealed bag instead of only 5.

Pretty sure this is the mystery ammo manufacturer:
If I recall, this stuff was selling for ~$0.50/rd for 55gr Blitzking or 69gr match, but that of course was pre-rona prices.

Ammo is always higher around here because Wal Mart doesn’t sell shite and it’s only locally owned hunting stores so they increase the price a good bit since there is no “big box” store competition for 2 hours in any direction

For match-grade ammo I still wouldn't pay $1/rd right now, maybe $0.60/rd if I didn't feel like sitting at my reloading bench and the place offered a military discount to offset the taxes a bit. It's laughable that the Aussie ammo is packed like it is, those particular green tips aren't that special and that is certainly driving up the price there.

I have plenty for myself, that I bought at normal prices, but I know a guy that has A Lot, that he has been sitting on. He was just talking to me about it Saturday. I really would like to help some people out to get some ammo, but it would need to be worth my trouble too.
