It's been pretty absymal at my place in Union Church. We have a shite ton of deer on multiple cameras, all at night. This is the first year for two of us on a new lease of 400 acres.

We are seeing much better quality of bucks on camera the last few nights, however.

We hunted Liberty in the 90s. First week of January was the rut and it was a lot of fun. Be patient

I saw 10 deer in a morning hunt 2 days ago. 2 of the racked bucks were harassing the does. It’s about to get good.

I’m in Smithdale which is a little north of Liberty. They are moving at night it would seem. We hunt our place here and in Woodville. The results have been the same . Very few deer sightings during daylight hours. Where are you in Liberty?

Go stealth mode. Shut off the 4wheelers and walk in.

That’s all I do here at home. We have 90 acres so we can walk to everything. It hasn’t made a difference. We’ve always done that. The side by side only goes in the woods to get a deer.

Not too far from you and same story, always seems to happen this time of year, full moon aint helping either, rut will kick off soon and hunting will be fun again

as for going stealth... sounds good but makes no difference, the neighbors and us were gone for 2 weeks with not as much as a truck going down the driveway , same result, give it another week

I'm in the sawmill on 24 highway in Liberty as we speak. I can confirm there are no deer here.

We have been hunting my place in Port Gibson pretty hard the last two weeks. Peak of the rut there.

The weekend of the 17th-20th we killed four nice bucks. Weather was good. They were chasing hard. Weekend of the 25th-27th started out good. Didn't kill anything but everyone was seeing deer.

The two guys who hunted Sun, Mon, and this morning really struggled. Hot. Foggy. Full moon. Saw very little.

You better not go in the gas station next door without a mask. They lady that runs it will stop you like you are trespassing.

Deer have been crawling all over us at our lease around Holden in the last 2 weeks. We also are in a lease in Greensburg. No one is seeing deer in that lease right now. I've probably made 10 hunts here in the last 2 weeks and I haven't seen a damn thing.

Liberty needs one really nice, big c-store with a good deli, maybe a fast food place. And friendly staff. It would be a revelation.

I'm not even asking for a Meat and 3 restaurant or anything. Just a nice gas station.

And liberty is like the Gettysburg of SW Miss. About 7 roads converge here. It would get plenty of traffic.

Agree.
We have a new Mexican place that stays packed. The rockin k and wards are always busy. It’s a busy little town. Especially this time of year.
