From what I've heard, the only thing that Hatch has over Lee is that he knows the system better. Lee is a better passer and gives us a much better chance at burning the App State secondary.

Now, in my opinion, I don't think we'll need to use 100 plays to pull out wins against our first three opponents. As such, we can start the better quarterback, even if he doesn't know as many plays. This will give Lee a chance to get a better grasp of the offense and prepare him for our first big test, Auburn.

Don't forget that little thing about Hatch being pretty quick with his wheels.

I think the coaches have a much better perspective into who will give the team the better chance at winning.

I'm hoping it's Lee. Heard that Hatch hasn't had a very impressive camp, while Lee has made huge strides lately. Apparently, Lee had a very nice scrimmage on Saturday. As Miles has intimated, I expect we'll see all three.

+1 Thank you.

Frankly, no one cares about who "YOU" wanted to see start. Selfishly, I'd like to see KW get more carries but (1) I want to win, (2) I'm not on the sidelines, so I'm content whoever the coaches decide to play. This is the same crowd that complained about naming Hester the starter before the 2007 season. Worked out OK, eh?

First of all, Hatch is one of my good friends, so I am clearly biased. That notwithstanding, I don't know about the accuracy of saying that he has not had a good camp. ESPN seems to think he is doing just fine if you go to 1:10 on This video

After a closed scrimmage: (Shreveport Times)

Asked if Hatch was indeed the No. 1 quarterback, LSU coach Les Miles smiled and said, "He certainly was today."

+1.

Hatch is more mobile; a little more mature than Lee.

I think Hatch will be the starter early on but Lee will eventually take over. Both will take more snaps than Ryan P. last year anyway.

I think it is pretty much a done deal that Hatch will take the first snap, but they are both going to rotate in and out quite a bit for the first two games.
By the third week I hope one of them has proved to be better and can stat getting comfortable in a starting role.

When we get to the tough games, Hatch will not play all that much. It will be the Lee and Jefferson show.

Also, I talked to Hatch yesterday and even HE doesn't know who is going to be starting next week.

Are you sure that's not just confidential info? It actually wouldn't surprise me either way.

Everyone I talk to who went to Saturday's scrimmage came away less than impressed with Hatch's performance.

I hope I'm wrong, but from what I saw, Hatch doesn't have the arm to play against top-notch SEC competition IMHO. I hope I'm wrong, 'cause I expect Hatch to be the starter.

If the coaching staff expects Lee to take over like many of you/us think, shouldn't Lee be the starter and work the kinks out against lesser competition? I gotta admit that I'm a 'lil nervous about this. You've got to have a major league arm and be able to throw the out pattern. It's not a "spread" offense if you're always throwing to the middle of the field and the safeties can cheat and cut the field in half.

Having said all this, I fully trust this staff, at least to deal with this situation. It's just that I was concerned last year that we'd "BE" in just this situation with RP pulling his chit over and over again. We (the fans) shoulda saw this coming.

Didn't you know that the coaching staff has had a problem identifying who has the "hot hand," and was unaware that KW was clearly the best back last year, and further that he has never fumbled (despite what history, including performances at practice, appears to show), and that Hester will never make it in the NFL because he is not "athletic" enough, and didn't realize that KW had a better chance of "breaking the big one" ?

We don't know who will play, but if Hatch beats out Lee, then I don't think I will have any problem with him as I think Lee is going to be a great college quarterback. I have a sneaking suspicion we are going to be alright at QB.

i hate this argument. the "omg is hatch guna be able to throw the "out route"." you do know the out route depends more on timing than it does arm stregnth right?
