He has himself positioned very well at UL...both professionally and personally. He can afford to be very picky as he continues to build on his resume. Certainly a chance he goes next year, but would not surprise me one bit that he stays another 2-3 years.

Chris Landry said on his podcast that he spoke to Napier and Napier told him he was really disappointed that he wasn’t offered the South Carolina job. It was a pseudo “dream job” for him.

Napier is being picky but he is interested in mid tier SEC jobs provided the admin is what he is looking for. I don’t know if UT fits that bill or not.

ET: he also said Napier turned down Auburn bc he didn’t know who his boss was going to be in the short term, if that tells you anything about what’s going on in their admin.
